When Halo 3 was released in September 2007 its first 24 hours the video game grossed more then 170 million in the United States alone. The release out did the openings of Harry Potter and the release of Spiderman 3. When talking about popularity this is a huge event.

The biggest thing was that Microsoft gave Mcfarlane the rights to make Mcfarlane Figures for these Halo 3 characters. This was huge. Even thought they probably were not the best selling of all time. You know that if the release of the video game was that huge the Mcfarlane Figures he was given the right to make were very high sellers.
